ELIGIBILITY AND MEDIA
This exhibition is open to all artists
working in any medium who include the computer as an integral part
of their work. Artwork must not have been exhibited in a previous
SCAN Symposium Art Exhibition.
ACCEPTABLE MEDIA INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED
TO:
Prints, Photographs, Sculpture, Animation,
Multimedia, VHS or 3/4" Videotape, Installations, 3D Stereoscopic
Images, Textiles and Crafts, Holograms, Interactive Work, Robotics
. . . any medium will be considered.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
(Entry fee - $20.00)
A limit of three works per artist represented as listed below may
be submitted for jurying. Please follow the guidelines outlined below
for either electronic submission (accompanied by credit card payment)
or submission by mail (accompanied by check). For
information on entry procedures, please email info@scanarts.com
Entry format:
In addition to slides, the
following methods may be used for submission of work for consideration:
Ø By
mail on a 3.5 disk in Mac or PC format. Files must be in a format
that is either self running or can be read by a program listed below.
Disks will not be returned.
Ø By
e-mailfiles may be no larger than 100 Kbytes*
Ø By
reference to a specific web site address*
Files submitted electronically must be in one
of the following formats:
Ø JPG
Ø Photoshop
5.0 or earlier
Ø TIF
Ø PCX
Ø Apple
Quicktime
Ø Windows AV
Ø Windows MPG
Ø Macromedia
Director Projector files
Ø Flash
Ø Shockwave
Ø Any executable file that can be read on a Mac G3 (or earlier) or
Intel PIII (or earlier) computer

All files submitted electronically must be
named with the entrants name (e.g. smith1.tif or lewis_blueimage.psd)
Entries submitted via electronic means must
be paid for via Credit Card. Checks may be submitted with any entry
referencing a web site.
2D Works:
Submit 1-3 slides of each work.
Sculpture:
Submit 1-3 slides of each sculpture.
Accepted work must include instructions if it needs on-site assembly
or maintenance.
Video Works:
In addition to the tape, submit 1-3
slides representative of the video imagery for publicity and slide
collection. Please cue tape to approximately 10 seconds before the
beginning of the segment. Works longer than 5 minutes may (or may
not) be partially exhibited.
Installations:
Submit 1-3 slides, a disk if applicable,
and a brief description of the installation. Accepted works must include
all equipment and complete set up and operation instructions as needed.
Interactive Sculpture:
Submit a videotape of work.

The slides mentioned above must be marked
as follows:
A dot on the lower left corner of the slide mount (visible in the
upper right when placed correctly in a carousel)
Artist's Name and Title of Work (if any)
BE SURE TO ENCLOSE:
- Info regarding Medium, Hardware, Software,
Dimensions of the work, Completion date and price. (Price indicated
should be the amount the artists wishes to receive for the work
- not the retail price)
- Sufficient postage, packaging and mailing
labels for the return of slides, tapes etc.
- E-mail address for jury notification
- Slides, disks or tape of each entry as indicated
above

DeadlinesWorks
for display MUST be received by Silicon Gallery by October

Conditions of Agreement
SCAN and SILICON GALLERY, their employees,
volunteers, etc. cannot be responsible for slides and materials submitted
for review. All selected works must remain for the duration of the exhibit.
SCAN and SILICON GALLERY reserve the right to reproduce entries for
publicity, catalogue and slide set purposes. Submission of entries will
constitute an agreement to the conditions set forth in this prospectus.
